Reporting a problem

If something went wrong, SysCap shows Error report · Review in its status bar. Review it and choose Send; it contains what is needed to find the cause and nothing that identifies you. A local log is also kept in runtime\last-error.txt in SysCap's folder, if you prefer to attach it to an e-mail.

Common questions

Windows says it "protected your PC". Beta releases are not yet code-signed. Choose More info, then Run anyway. You can compare the file's checksum with the one on the download page.

Does SysCap need administrator rights? No. Only the optional file activity tracing asks for them, each time you turn it on.

Where are my settings? In the runtime folder next to SysCap. The installed version lives in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\SysCap.

How do I stop update checks? Open SysCap's menu and clear Check for updates automatically.

How do I remove it? Settings > Apps in Windows. You will be asked whether to keep your settings and scan data.
